Last Pday in the MTC!!

BLESSING
On Friday, my zone leaders gave me a blessing because I have been
getting headaches almost everyday since being in the MTC and they’re
really annoying. I’m so grateful for the Priesthood and that I have
people who are able to give me blessings. I felt so much comfort
during the blessing. I would appreciate all the prayers I can get for
my head:)

SUNDAY
On Sunday Sorella Cooper and I taught Relief Society on the Holy
Ghost. It was such a cool lesson and made me realize so much about the
spirit. Without the Holy Ghost we are literally nothing, I’m so
grateful to have the gift of the Holy Ghost in my life. During
Sacrament my district also sang A Child’s Prayer, we did one verse in
English and one verse in Italian. It was very fun haha. Sorella Cooper
and I decided to take a nap during choir, and we accidentally slept
through the devotional lol oops. Haha but we watched Mountain of the
Lord afterwards so at least we got some spiritual enlightenment. I
can’t believe we have one Sunday left in the MTC. Idk how I’m gonna do
in a sacrament that only speaks Italian. Haha

GAIA
We were able to Skype another Italian member on Saturday just for fun.
After getting baptized, she moved to BYUI and she speaks English so
well. We just talked to her, and she helped us with our grammar. She’s
from Milan and she told us that if we serve in Milan, then every
Saturday we will get to play soccer with the ward! The ward also
speaks mostly Spanish, I hope I go there so I can work on my Italian
and Spanish.

RANDOM STUFF
Well as I was making fun of an Elder for cracking his iPad, I dropped
mine and cracked it so badly. So I guess that is what I get for not
being Christlike. Instant karma 🤷🏽‍♀️

FAVORITE MTC THINGS
I cannot believe I have been in the mtc for 6 weeks already! It has
gone by so so fast! I have absolutely loved being in the mtc but
cannot wait to get to ITALY!! My favorite things about the MTC have
been my teacher Fratello Simkins, he is the coolest human I have ever
met and I’m going to miss him so much. I love gym time, all the
Italians play four square and every other zone hates us cuz we’re so
competitive haha oops. I love all the missionaries going to Italy this
transfer. They’re amazing,
I love love my collega and I am going miss her more than anything. We
have gotten so close these last 6 weeks and it’s so sad to me that we
have to leave each other:( I hope we will be companions in our mission
sometime hahah!

TUESDAY DEVOTIONAL
The devotional this week was so good. It was Elder Kevin Hamilton, of
the seventy, and his wife. They talked a lot about excitement and
fear. Excitement and fear release the same chemicals in our brain, it
just depends on how you identify them. It was very cool, and was a
perfect last devotional to hear before I go to Italy on Monday!

COOL
Our last workshop was on Thursday, and it was all about working with
members. Members are such an important part of missionary work, and I
wish I would’ve realized that before. I know that I could have done
better at sharing the gospel before I was a missionary. The church
doesn’t just have 65,000 missionaries, it has the 16 million members
as well who should also be doing missionary work. I love this work so
much! You have ever thought about going on a mission, DO IT.

Sono grata per la mtc. Sono grata per la opportunità per servo una
missione. So Che la chiesa e vero. I love and miss you all. Thank you
for all the emails and support! I can’t wait to get to Italy next
week!!!!!!!!!

Vi voglio bene

CIAO! I can’t believe I have been in the mtc for a month.

UN MESE NEL MTC
CIAO! I can’t believe I have been in the mtc for a month. That is
insane! Time has gone by so so fast! I only have 9 days left and I’m
not sure if I’m super excited or scared out of my mind to get to

Italy! I love all the Italian missionaries more than anything! I’m
gonna be so sad to leave them:(

SUNDAY/MOTHERS DAY
On Sunday, Sorella Cooper and I had to use our calling of being
technology specialists, and in Relief Society it went great and I
turned on the tv hahaha. We arrived early to sacrament to turn on the
piano and microphones. Then one of the branch presidency members asked
us to turn up the microphone and we had no idea how or where to do
that. So basically worst technology specialists ever. Calling my mommy
was very, very fun. I got to see all my extended family and I loved it.

EXCITING THINGS
My little brother Caden got his mission call this week! Not sure how
he is old enough to go on a mission, not sure how I’m old enough to be
on a mission haha. He is going to the MICRONESIA GUAM MISSION. what!!!
Isn’t that the coolest mission you’ve ever heard of!! I’m so so
excited for him!

DEVOTIONAL
On Tuesday Neil L. Andersen and his wife came and spoke to us. It was
super cool. I love how everyone who speaks here brings their wives, we
don’t usually get the opportunity to hear from them! He also brought
his grandkids and they were so cool. I feel very blessed to have been
able to hear from 2 apostles while in the mtc.

TRC
On Monday, we Skyped a real Italian and taught her a lesson. It was
scary haha, but she was super impressed with how well we can teach
after only 4 weeks.
I am so so grateful to be a missionary, I have never felt better about myself or what I’m doing. And I haven’t even gotten to the good stuff
yet!! I cannot wait to share the gospel with the Italians. I love the
gospel so much, I know that it is true. I love you all so so much.
Also, read the Book Saints. It’s dang cool!!!

On Tuesday we got to leave the MTC hallelujah!!!!!

CIAO!!!

FAST SUNDAY
well this Sunday was fast Sunday, and man it was brutal. I hate the
admit this but it was truly the first time I’ve ever fasted for twenty
four hours and oh my goodness I thought I was going to die. But I did
it and I’m glad I did. Somehow church ends up being 12 hours in the
mtc and we just have meeting after meeting hahaha. Kinda rough but
helps you not focus on the fact that you’re starving to death. And
then dinner was disgusting and so I didn’t eat anything at all really
hahaha. For the devotional we had Kenneth Cope come and sing to us and
it was really cool. Also Sorella Cooper and I got called to be the
technology specialists for our branch/zone and we have no idea what
we’re doing hahahaha.

SALT LAKE
On Tuesday we got to leave the MTC hallelujah!!!!! We went to salt
lake to meet with the Italian consulate to get our visas. We got on
the front runner and it was nice to be in the real world. We ate at
city creek and I had McDonald’s, chic fil a, and bocata lol. It was so
wonderful eating real food!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s weird that everyone
stares at us and everyone says hi to us! Haha it takes some getting
used to for sure. We saw a bunch of second graders on a field trip and
when we saw them they yelled MISSIONARIES!!!! Haha it was so so cute.
LANGUAGE
I am finally starting to feel good about Italian. I feel like I can
mostly communicate everything that I need to say and it feels so
good!!!!!! I cannot wait to get to Italy now, I know that I’ll
probably not understand anything when I get there, but I’m so ready to
go there hahahaha.
DOCTOR
So remember when I thought I had warts, ya they’re not warts
hallelujah hahaha. I had to go to a dermatologist about them, and
they’re a type of eczema that flares up with stress hahahaha. So the
doctor at the mtc froze my hands for absolutely nothing:)
Sister Geilmann got here this week and it made me soo happy!!!

I love love love being a missionary. And I’m so excited to leave the
mtc in two and a half weeks!!!!! Everyone please be reading your Book
of Mormon everyday! Christ knows our story perfectly, so we need to
get to learn his perfectly!!!
I love you all and miss you so much!!!
Ti voglio bene
Sorella Zesiger

Hey everyone, the gift of tongues is soooo real.

Ciao!!!

I can’t believe it’s been two weeks here!!!! The weeks go by so, so
fast but the days are so, so, so, so long.

FOOD
I’m starting to get sick of the mtc food😭 at first I thought it was
so good but now it’s horrible and I want to eat real people food. I
cannot wait to get to Italy and eat the delicious food!!!!!!!!
LANGUAGE
Hey everyone, the gift of tongues is soooo real. It’s incredible how
fast you’re able to learn! I feel like I know almost as much Italian
as I do Spanish and I took Spanish for 4 years and I’ve been speaking
Italian for 2 weeks hahaha! We’re all able to bear our testimonies,
pray, and teach actual good lessons in Italian. It’s craziness. This
week we taught our first lessons to people that aren’t our teachers,
and they went so well! We were able to say everything we wanted and
understand everything they said!!!!
TROUBLE
So on Sunday I got in trouble with the mtc presidency and it was
horrible. I was sitting at a table with 5 elders and my companion was
close behind me, and the presidency walks up and tells me and my
companion to be in the same conversation. Then me and Sorella Cooper
walk inside to use the restroom and some random guy goes we’ve been
using you guys as what not to do in our meetings. And was way rude
about it. But then we saw the presidency again and I was like I’m
sorry about that and he said it’s okay it’s called a training center
for a reason. So basically the mtc presidency was way nice and the
random guy was evil.
DEVOTIONAL
On Tuesday our devotional was from Elder Nielson of the 70, he’s in
charge of the missionary department and he told us how he presented
the idea to President Nelson to let missionaries call home and it was
a cool story. I’m very grateful that he did that!!
RANDOM
Everyone should go watch all the cool videos on ComeUntoChrist.org,
they are so so cool! You should also listen to The Power of The Book
of Mormon, by Thomas S Monson. It is such a powerful talk! Read your
scriptures everyday and make sure you have a testimony of them!!!!!!

Thank you so much for all the support and love! It’s so cool to be
able to feel people praying for me. Thank you for your emails!! I love
you all so so much!

Ti voglio bene
Sorella Zesiger

So this is the coolest story....(written by mom) Shelby's dad worked in Idaho for the day.  He was visting with his client and that started to talk about Shelby going on a mission to Milan Italy.  His client told Jeff that his friend is going to be the new mission president there in July and would he like to meet him? Of course, Jeff said yes!! So they ended up meeting at Costa Vida for lunch.  They were able to talk for over an hour!  Jeff loved them both and said they are such amazing people and that Shelby will love them!  This was such a tender mercy to me that Heavenly Father is so aware of us and what we need in our lives!

I have officially been a missionary for two months. Crazy!

Ciao tutti!!!     I have officially been a missionary for two months. Crazy! Time has gone by so so fast! And a little slow as...
